Our selection process

1. 1Identify the category — align your goals and horizon with the right fund category (Large Cap, Mid Cap, Hybrid, etc.).
2. 2AMC screening — evaluate the fund house's reputation, AUM and track-record stability.
3. 3Performance analysis — compare rolling returns against benchmarks over 1, 3 and 5 years.
4. 4Risk-adjusted analysis — assess Sharpe, Sortino and standard deviation to weigh reward against risk.
5. 5Expense ratio check — favour lower expense ratios to maximise long-term wealth.
6. 6Fund manager review — check manager tenure and consistency of investment style.
7. 7Portfolio quality — examine sector concentration and credit quality (minimum AA- for debt).
8. 8Riskometer mapping — match the scheme's risk level with your assessed risk profile.
9. 9Internal approval — final compliance review before a scheme is recommended.
10. 10Annual review — recommended lists are reviewed yearly, and after significant market events.

Exclusion criteria

• AMCs under SEBI regulatory action or warning.
• Debt schemes with exposure below AA- credit quality.
• Portfolios with concentration well above category norms.
• Schemes with frequent fund manager changes (2 or more in 3 years).

Recommendations follow risk-ceiling boundaries set by your assessed profile and time horizon. Where you choose to invest beyond your risk ceiling, we ask for a written acknowledgement. Our selection is independent of AMC commission structures and is fully documented and auditable.
